A follow-up to the December 1, 2009 Common Ground network mapping Roundtable Discussion (Meeting Notes & Roundtable Discussion Summary)

We will set a regular meeting time and project sub- committee for the CRD regional map and network development.

Topics for January Meeting:

Governance/ Funding:

Katie Shaw- Raudoy from LifeCycles/Common Ground is willing to work with Ken and Maeve and Wendy here at UVIC to help pull together our communications network. We want to create a long term and funded plan and governance system for the CRD regional and possible Vancouver Island, a Common Ground Community Mapping Network, in the next few months. Working out partnership agreements with key players such as UVic, CRD, VIHA and the City is part of this. We will discuss this at the meeting.

Regional Network and CRD Map Development:

January 31st is one upcoming Van City funding deadline. This is an opportunity to put in a $10,000 proposal for our new regional green map, an on-line system, and to get the Oak Bay and Fernwood maps further developed.

Apparently there is great progress also being made on the Langford Green Map thanks to the great team out there and Elaine Limbrick-the Highlands / West Shore wonder woman!
