Date/Time:

'Change is Coming' was a forum about being pro-active for sustainable schools. With approximately 200 delegates in attendance, K-12 schools in Victoria School District 61 sent administrators, teachers, custodians, secretaries and students.
Heather Coey, a teacher at Reynolds Highschool and member of SD61's Climate Change & Sustainability Committee suggested "this would be a very valuable opportunity for all of us to get "the word out" regarding important information and resources as we prepare ourselves for the "Change [that] is Coming". And it was!

There were a number of government and non-government service organizations invited to participate along with the UVic Community Mapping Centre:Wild BC, BC Hydro School Programs, Ministry –Green Schools Education Programs, Life Cycles Growing Schools, Sierra Club, UVic Community Mapping, HASTE BC, CRD – Victoria Climate Action Facilitator, CRD – Waste Management, CRD – Water Conservation, GOERT (Garry Oak Ecosystems Recovery Team), HAT (Habitat Acquisition Trust), Victoria Natural History Society, Camosun—Environmental Technology, Western Wilderness Committee, Pembia Foundation –Green Learning, Destination Conservation, Dogwood Initiative, Saanich Urban Forest Plan, Saanich Parks,Victoria Transition Town Initiative
